A good day, and we’ve all ended up tired out. This morning I took the little off for a sizeable walk (nearly to the their school), just so that we could play in a different park – it’s good to keep things fresh hehehe. And also because this park has lots of fancy new things in πŸ™‚
We spent quite a while there larking about even though it was raining on and off, they just meant we had the place to ourselves. On our way home we called in at the shops including out favourite local Fruit & Veg shop, and as a special bonus they now have Egremont Russet apples in. The best apples it’s possible to get – yes I’m an apple connoisseur, these apple are very seasonal, and many should be purchased during the few months of the year in which they are available πŸ™‚
After a lunch we were all very tired from this mornings fun, so we had a communal afternoon nap πŸ™‚ which was important because the little ones were also going to be staying up late tonight. That’s due to the first episode of the new Doctor Who series that was in tonight, featuring the acting power house that is Peter Capaldi in the titular role. Can you tell that I was excited too πŸ™‚
Before it was time for Doctor Who I bowed to pressure and we played “Hey that’s my Fish” again, Aiden had been asking since the moment he was awake to play it again πŸ˜‰
When Doctor Who did arrive we settled down to enjoy it. In particular Paige had wanted to dress up nicely for the first episode, to make it seem like a proper premier, so he had a posh frock on for the occasion πŸ™‚
Did we like it? Yeah if course we did, there were tears at the emotional bits (especially Matt Smiths small part), and I thought Mr Capaldi was very good, because let’s be honest it’s a big role to take on, and this first episode is always about how the Doctor is adjusting to new things. I particularly like the “angry eyebrows” bit which I’m sure contained overtures of Scottish independence within it’s well crafted lines πŸ˜‰
And that’s it for our day, so a few pics now, including the kids showing their rapt attention upon the Flash Gordon film which was also on today – and wen better they remembered it from wen I first introduced it to them, and joined in with the “Dive!!!!!!!” lines πŸ˜€
