There was a major doubt about me attending a big all day Geek session today, however with some rather epic intervention from the lovely host I was able to attend, and what a great idea it was too!
We immersed ourselves in the intrigue of Victorian Steampunk London, and once again Milton Malloy 3rd showed a complete lack of social graces and etiquette with often amusing results. Now both Milton and 1 other member (Flimby) of quartet of adventurers (now officially titled “The xxxxxxx Badgers”) are low class beast folk of questionable morals. Whilst the other half of the party are respectable members of society. This invariably leads to our party splitting up (“Don’t split up the party!” A cardinal rule of adventuring we always break hehehe), it just so happens that our half of the party always seemed to find the trouble πŸ˜‰
Now I received a friendly warning at the beginning of the session from our genius GM, I believe he said “be very careful are there are some characters in this adventure which if you behave in an inappropriate way they can wipe out the party easily”…………. It’s safe to say that as Milton and Flimby both colluded together after a few hours of investigation and decided that what was needed now was a good old fashion ruck, as we hadn’t seen any fighting yet, wasn’t the most sensible idea we came up with. Although it must be said that Flimby’s idea of leaving a random pair of shoes in a house we cunningly burgled was a great idea πŸ˜‰ Anyway back to the fight we started, yep it turns out we’d managed to pick on someone we really shouldn’t have, now I’m just going to point out that as Milton and Flimby both started giggling insanely at an amazingly audacious plan they had just hatched together, the GM let out a huge sigh of exasperation, especially upon learning that Milton had now produced a grenade for the big finale. This was met a conversation that went thus:
GM “Where did you get that grenade from?”
Malinari “you both of these?”
GM “you have more?!?”
Malinari “yep 2 grenades”
GM “but where did your character get them?”
Malinari “I brought them when we did character creation, remember I asked about them?”
GM “oh no *sigh*” followed by some chuckling.
Yep and queue some big explosions later and Milton and Flimby nearly becoming ex-characters. Thankfully the GM did cut us some slack and the other party member role played their hearts out to save our comedy duo πŸ˜€
Needless to say yesterday was a fantastic day, and even though we spent about 8 hours playing the time flew by in a blur accompanied with so much laughter πŸ™‚
I do intend to start writing the narrative for this intrepid band of inept investigators – so watch this space πŸ˜€
