I had a massive Geek day, in fact wasn’t just massive due it’s level of Geekiness, but also the length of time we spent Geeking.

Originally we were all going to get together for our semi regular Victoriana role play session, sadly a couple of the players were unable to make it. So the hardcore Geek masters still got together and decided to board the shit out of the day πŸ™‚

We started gently with some Munchkin, during which I managed to reach the dizzying heights of level 2 or 3!!!!!!!!! Thanks largely to only drawing curses from the door deck for the first 7 rounds. Obviously being at this disadvantage I was soon alienated due to the curses I was having to inflict upon people hehehe πŸ˜‰

Once I’d lost at Munchkin we decided to get serious and break out the big guns. The Arkham Horror box was placed in the middle of the table, then everything was taken off the table so that we could fit on all the cards and the gaming board. Now for those of a less Geek persuasion Arkham Horror is a big game, and by that I mean the time it takes to play, plus te game is notoriously hard. Usually a good board game will last 1 1/2 to 2 hours………… Not Arkham Horror, we called it a day after about 7 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!! And by call it a day I mean the game wasn’t actually finished. We called it a win though, as we in a good place and it was just a matter of grinding through to close the last 4 of the 11 portal locations πŸ™‚
Now our hosts were awesome, even if their decision to bring out a bottle of Old Rosie Cider may not have been the wisest one, it certainly contributed to an amusing character voice all game πŸ˜€
