Diary of a Poisoner – Day 1397

Rumors of demise have been greatly exaggerated πŸ˜‰

However it seems that a 3 year daily habit is surprisingly easy to break. I have and do remain pretty poorly, with no let up in stomach issues, and the magic injections don’t seem to have improved my flagging energy levels at all………….

It’s been about 3 weeks since I’ve last been in the blogosphere, clearly quite a bit has happened, as always we’ve been off on grand adventures with the little ones, done battle with alien invaders, learned some amazing science tricks, and continued to attend an unappreciative and thoroughly boring place of work – (NB not all stated facts may be entirely truthful……..)

I’ll post a few pics up to show some of our happenings, we did go to a science open day with the little ones just last weekend, ad it was great fun, I was particularly amazed at discovering how you can put a sharp stick through a balloon without it popping πŸ™‚

I’m not going to promise to go back to daily posts, but I will make an effort to post on a more regular basis, oh and we also missed International Pirate Day, so Captain Ignatius Chumbucket III didn’t get his yearly takeover of my blog, I may let him have a day or to later on as compensation, I’ll see if I can come to some arrangement with him πŸ˜€

Another extended pause between posts, which to be honest is more down to getting out of the habit than it is just illness related πŸ™‚

Quite a lot has happened, we had the little ones for their last 2 days of summer holiday, so we made sure Aiden was prepared for school, as well as making sure they both spent lots of time and energy running around the parks.

Quite a few days ago we also managed to get the band back together. And by band I actually mean the old Roleplay group of course πŸ™‚

No Roleplay was done, but we did catch up on many months (maybe even 12+) of Geekiness, there’s even talk if a regular get together from now on, although I had to bail on the first arranged meetup………it was for the greater good though.

The Forger is now actually mobile, she has a vehicle for her mobile business!!!!!!!!!! Amazing, such a game changer πŸ˜‰

With that in mind, here’s a new batch of pictures.

Diary of a Poisoner – Day 1395

Oh no my poor blog is certainly suffering from neglect, over a week since my last post……………….

So what’s happened? Well the little ones have been around lots so there has been lots of trips to various parks in order to make sure they get a hefty dose of fresh air. Lots of games played in particular the retro classic “Operation”, sadly the patient didn’t survive the myriad of procedures he went through………. A water fight in which I was outnumbered but not outgunned, and finally a bit of painting here and there.

Other stuff, I’ve been to work, it’s been terrible unexciting and dull, and I’m still under appreciated where I am.

I’ve had 5 of my 6 injections for this intensive course of treatments, and whilst energy levels have shown no sign of improvement, I have experienced a lifting of “Brain fog”, so my mind now feels like it’s working in HD πŸ™‚

I think that’s about it, hopefully it won’t be another week between posts……….

Well my intensive course of injections started on Monday, and today was injection number 2, so far absolutely no noticeable difference, other than I’m tired out from repeated trips to the doctors, and both my arms are sore from the stabbings πŸ™‚

We’ve had the little ones for the last 2 days, and despite my exhaustion from illness we made sure they got outside both days for a run about in the fresh air. Yesterday it involved the park and Paige got to whizz around on her scooter. We also had a little get together yesterday (the grandparents visited) so that we could have an early birthday celebration for The Forger (it’s not until Friday). Oh and also yesterday I made up on the fly a Roleplay adventure for the kids and The Forger to play, so we have Sir Aiden of Bridgewater – the brave knight, Paige Mistweb – famed ranger and Em Thistledown – healer and purveyor of magical arts. They are trying the realm of Dragonia from the evil wizard Stinkoniuos and his pet black Dragon Sewer…………. The adventure will continue this weekend, as the kids are keen to play again πŸ˜€

It’s been a little while, but I’ve set a new personal best for how ill I’ve been this last week. I’m aware that over the last year this has been a record often cited, but thanks to the medication they out me on I definitely surpassed all previous efforts. Turns out losin 6lbs in 4 days really isn’t healthy for you. Thankfully after speaking to various doctors on the phone (it was impossible to get an appointment until Aug 20th!?!) I’m no longer on that medication.

I am however embarking on an intensive course of B12 injections tomorrow. Meaning that for the next 2 weeks I have an injection every Mon, Weds & Fri. And then injections for life every 3 months apparently………..

So there’s still no official word on what is wrong, but clearly something isn’t right.

With all this happening last week is a bit of a blur. I only made it into work on 1 day. I did get to the park a couple of times with the littles ones, but only for very short stints, thankfully the Forger was able to give them a painting lesson outside πŸ™‚

A fair bit to catch up on, had a great weekend with the little ones and family (we headed south for the weekend). The Forger is making great progress with her business, although she isn’t properly mobile yet.

The little ones basically spent the whole weekend outside, including a biking adventure for and a woodland adventure for all of us, during which I did a great impression of a rhino πŸ™‚

Sadly I’m still really ill, so much so that I didn’t make it into work today 😦

I’m currently taking a bile acid sequestrian drug, which lists the main side effect as constipation…….. Definitely not the case here, the exact opposite in fact. Sunday saw me evacuating every last bit of food from my weak and pathetic body, and then once all that was gone the blood clots took over…….. Boo!

Going to give this medicine a week and see what happens :-/

Diary of a Poisoner – Day 1391

Illness prevails, and it’s been making sleep problematic for last week or so as well, it’s rare for me to sleep beyond 03-00 currently, so lack of sleep doesn’t couple well with exhaustion and stomach issues.

That said The Forger is making great progress towards her own business ad the little ones were full of smiles πŸ™‚

Yesterday was hospital appointment day, it was time to meet with the specialised and see if they had figured out what’s going on……………. Turns out they haven’t 😦

So the news thus far is this; no direct evidence of Crohns currently, although they believe I’m in the early stages of developing, so it looks like it’s on it’s way, but hasn’t manifested fully yet (?!?!?). There is a problem with my Bile Salt re absorption, which they don’t really know the significance of, but they are trying out a treatment (for treatment read I have to drink an unpleasant concoction twice a day hehehe) to see that can be fixed. I’m vitamin B12 deficient still (pointing to Crohns, but again early stages). Finally the MRI showed up something untoward happening with my Appendix, but as they got a photograph of that a few months ago they aren’t concerned at the moment.

So that’s it currently, I’m kind of stuck with having to avoid any food with fibre, as it had dire consequences for me, and clearly having your stomach bloat up everytime you eat a normal sized meal isn’t actually cause for concern or is it indicative of an actual medical problem :-/
